Tax Credit

tax_credit_verbage_460

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) into law. The
Legislation combines spending and tax incentives designed to
get the American economy moving again by investing in our
nation’s road and energy infrastructure, and providing incentives
for increasing energy efficiency.

Homeowners who purchase a qualified Air Conditioning
System between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010
are now eligible for a tax credit equal to 30% of the full purchase
and installation price with a cap of $1500.00

Difference between Tax Credit & Tax Deduction
A tax credit applies against the taxpayer’s obligation for taxes.
A tax deduction applies against a taxpayer’s income, lowering the
adjusted gross income. Tax credits have greater benifits to taxpayers.
(Be sure to speak with your financial advisor or accountant on all tax matters.)
